Join us for a transformative practice that reveals the magic of back bending poses. This workshop is designed to strengthen and liberate the core for safe backbends. Technically, back bending poses can only be accessed freely with deep opening of the hip flexors, the spine and the shoulder joints. Back bend poses serve as powerful tools to access the chambers of the heart.  You will be guided through an innovative repertoire of sequences and be empowered and revitalized by the depth of this practice. All levels are welcome and the class will be very accessible for everyone!

What you will learn in this 2.5 hour workshop:

• Little known secrets to achieving backbends

• Basic anatomy of the spine

• Purpose and benefits of back bends - both physical and energetic

The Forrest Yoga Teacher Training Program is designed to deliver a solid foundation in the art of teaching Forrest Yoga. The program includes the Forrest Yoga Teacher Training Foundation course, a 24 day immersion course, which will focus on intense personal and professional growth and will promote powerful insights that provide deeper integration with one's true self.

Taught by Ana Forrest, a world-renown instructor and practitioner of yoga, this course will open you to deeper truths and perceptions and teach you how to apply these truths to your lives - both in and out of the yoga studio. The Forrest Yoga Teacher Training Course will prepare you to be a Level I/II Forrest Yoga instructor. It is the first step of becoming a fully certified Forrest Yoga teacher. Tending the Sacred Fire: Living Yoga Sadhana

Within Tantra, Ayurveda, and Krisnamacharya's teachings of Vinyasa, we thrive when we find the form of yoga practice that fuels, nourishes and illumines what is needed to evolve our life. How do you practice when you are feeling the natural human emotions such as stuck, overwhelmed, stressed, shut-down, bored, lethargic, mechanical, tense, etc. that inhibit the flow of yoga. How does yoga practice and living yoga form a continual circle of transformation?  All of these practical realities of adult life center around the metaphor of "tending the fire".

  

Based on Shivas innovative program 30-day Living Yoga Sadhana Program, we will explore Four Paths of Practice: Bhakti (the power of love and devotion), Vira (awakening the fire of ones potential), Shakti (unleashing the creative power), and Shanti Sadhana (living peace) as ways of cultivating our inner light.  Beginning with a collective fire ceremony, we will explore each one of these Four Paths of Practice for a weekend of rejuvenating practice to then create a living yoga sadhana to balance and activate your life.

Join SHAKTI Instructors, Baptiste trained by Baron Baptiste and Lisa Black, as they help you tap your strength and grace through learning the Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga philosphy and sequencing. This comprehensive style combines the alignment & form of Iyengar, breath & flow of Ashtanga, and balance and power of Bikram. Through demonstration and explanation, your will be guided through Sun Salutations, standing poses, twists, balancing, backward & forward bending, hip opening, and inversions that leave you cleansed and inspired. Your instructors will provide you with corrective and deepening adjustments that heighten your body awareness to a new level. The weekend builds progressively to include 53 postures, 11 series, and incorporates the 5 Pillars: breath, locks, gaze, flow, and heat. You will learn how to modify postures to adapt to your individual needs and experience levels. Be prepared to work hard, to raise your awareness, and to have fun!
