YOGA CLASSES - STUDIOS
Founded in September 2003, SHAKTI Vinyasa
Yoga was one of the first Baptiste Affiliate
studios and the only one in Washington State. Today,
there are over 40 Baptiste Affiliate studios in the world and
Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga is the fastest growing style. SHAKTI’s
founder and director Lisa Black, is one of Baron Baptiste’s
senior Baptiste instructors. Lisa Black opened SHAKTI
East in January 2005 with her husband and Baptiste instructor
Peter Avolio. SHAKTI East was brand new construction and they
designed the space to provide a sunlit studio, men’s and
women’s locker rooms, a massage
room, retail boutique, and a free parking garage. SHAKTI
West was remodeled in 2009 to provide a second studio
skylight and an expanded dressing room with three restrooms and
a shower. Both studios carry the top of the line yoga props, clothing,
books, and DVDs in their retail boutiques.
In January 2011, Lisa Black opened her third
studio SHAKTI Redmond. This studio has all the
comfortable and stylish features that have become a signature
of SHAKTI.
