Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga
Founded by Baron Baptiste, this style of yoga is a dynamic combination of strength, sweat and spirituality. Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga heals as it detoxifies and electrifies. This accessible, yet challenging and flowing form of yoga will lead you to a state of transformation -- it will sculpt, tone and hone the muscles of your body and your mind. Classes are based on a structure of 53 asanas in 11 series within a 90 minute class. Within the consistency of this proven structure, there are many modifications and variations that serve the needs of all experience levels. SHAKTI Vinyasa Yoga
Created and founded in 2003 by Lisa Black, this powerful style combines many elements of the Vinyasa yoga tradition including philosophy, chanting, music, pranayama (breath regulation), vinyasa (flow), arm balancing, back bending, inversions, hip opening, moving meditation, and deep relaxation. This style incorporates philosophy, postures, and sequencing influenced by master teachers Baron Baptiste, Shiva Rea, and Ana Forrest. Classes are based on the central theme of “wave-like” fluidity and multi-directional sequencing using a circular sun saluation or “mandala namaskara.” The dynamic pulse and creative movements will challenge your mind and body and leave you feeling free and uplifted. Pre-requisite: Intermediate postures and sequencing--students should have at least 6 months experience with vinyasa yoga. The yoga studio is heated a comfortable 88-90 degrees.

INTRO Series
This comprehensive, introductory 8-class series is designed for beginners or students new to SHAKTI and Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga. You will learn the basic alignment and form of the 53 postures that compose the 90 minute Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga practice. We explore yoga philosophy and helpful breathing techniques that inspire and empower you on and off your mat. Each class progressively builds on the previous one, preparing students to understand the progression of the 11 part series within the Baptiste flow. A senior instructor and teaching assistants lead the class and support you with personal hands-on adjustments and guidance. Many people enjoy taking the INTRO Series many times in order to soak up all the information and apply the knowledge to their practice. Demonstration, discussion, personal hands-on adjustments, and guided practice provide you with a solid foundation of this dynamic style of yoga. The yoga studio is heated to a comfortable 84-86 degrees.

This high energy, 60 minute intermediate class has steady pacing and dynamic variations. It is based on a condensed version of the Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga practice that may include arm balancing and inversions. Be prepared to move, sweat, stretch deeply, and have fun! The yoga studio is heated a comfortable 88-90 degrees.



Yoga is known for the benefits of stress reduction, opening, grounding, and release. You will get all of that in our Gentle Flow classes.
The class moves at a slow pace, creating just enough heat to help loosen muscles and joints. You may practice different forms of breath control and longer holds to allow things to land. Use this class as a place to unwind, be gentle with yourself, while creating openness and possibility in many ways beyond just the physical.



Yin and Yang are complementary in the Chinese Tradition. Active Americans are high on the yang energy, meaning we keep ourselves moving, even in our yoga practice. Yin is yoga at its' coolest, deepest, quietest, stillest moments.
In this class you will be on the floor most of the time, using as many props as you would like to create as little effort while holding poses. We hold poses for 2-5 minutes allowing joints and fascia to release, anatomical structures that need different exercise than found in a firey yang vinyasa practices. This class will complement all the other movement you do and it will move you into more opening and release in the places you want to see improvement.


KID YOGA! *Not currently on the schedule
This is a fun, highly interactive 8-class Kid Yoga Series that spans 8 weeks. We create a fun, engaging environment where your child will experience healthy movement, participate in games, and practice solo and partner yoga poses. All the while, they will be sharpening vital life skills such as active listening, concentration, and group interaction. This is a great confidence builder for kids!

Children ages 5-10* are invited to join Thereza Howling at Bellevue & Redmond and Nicole Koleshis at Seattle SHAKTI in Ballard for an 8-week series to explore the FUN and interesting world of kids yoga! Kids will strengthen their bodies and minds, turn on their imaginations, and have a BLAST through classes filled with traditional yoga poses, movement exploration, rockin’ music, non-competitive games, art activities, time for relaxation, and much more. A drop-in option is available as well.
